Kalapathar means black rock and is a black rock ridge in the Everest region. The highest point is at 5644m and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding 8000m peaks. Warmth means safety in the mountains. The ultralight Kalapathar down jacket packs down so small it fits into a Nalgene 1L bottle. It is extremely light and therefore always with you. The Kalapathar is the jacket that fits close to the body with great freedom of movement and thus retains a maximum amount of warmth. The inside pocket becomes a stuff sack for the jacket when you don't need it. A chest pocket for a cell phone or GPS offers additional space. The hood offers space for a helmet and at the same time can be adjusted so tightly that your head doesn't get cold, even in icy temperatures.
