Sustainability – Not Just a Buzzword, but Reality
Sustainability
While "green" labels are everywhere, genuine change is rare. KAEMP 8848 takes a different approach. Here, sustainability isn't a marketing slogan, but a lived responsibility.
Social Responsibility
Nepal is not an outsourcing location, but the home and origin of KAEMP 8848. The company was founded by Prabin Thapa, produces in Nepal, and remains rooted there. The designs, the ideas – everything comes from the Himalayas.
Employees engage directly with management, enjoy social security, and have a real voice. While others close factories during crises, KAEMP 8848 retained all employees with full pay.
For decades, schools and athletes have been supported to create opportunities in Nepal. Sustainability starts here with responsibility – not with charity, but with equal opportunities.
KAEMP 8848 Germany returns 10% of its profits to Nepalese athletes. Because fairness is more than just a minimum wage.
Environmental Responsibility
Production
KAEMP 8848 avoids PFAS chemicals in treatment and uses PU-based, recyclable membranes. Because functionality doesn't have to come at the expense of the environment.
Lifespan
A sustainable product lasts a long time – and is repaired rather than discarded. With Patch Up, damaged products are repaired using fabric remnants. This reduces waste and makes each item unique. Because the most sustainable product is the one that doesn't need to be replaced.
Disposal
Almost all materials are recyclable. Old KAEMP 8848 products can be returned to many outdoor retailers and brought back into the cycle.
Animal Welfare
The down used comes from Canada – certified according to CDS and RDS, the highest standards for animal welfare. No animal cruelty, no live-plucking, no waste. Those who value real responsibility know where their materials come from.
Certificates – A Promise Instead of a Seal
Certificates can help, but they don't replace genuine sustainability. KAEMP 8848 relies on transparency instead of a jungle of labels. RDS and CDS certified, yes – but above all driven by genuine responsibility. Additional independent audits such as by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) are in progress. Because here, actions count, not logos.
KAEMP 8848 – a company from Nepal that demonstrates what true sustainability means.
