Our Story
Among the well-known names from the US and Europe stands a unique company from Kathmandu.
Developed in Nepal, Made in Nepal.
Kaemp 8848 has been synonymous with quality among mountain guides and athletes in Nepal for years. The logo is omnipresent on the jackets and pants of climbing guides in the Himalayas.

Our Philosophy
Prabin Thapa, founder of the company, stands against the "big players" of the outdoor industry.
Most mountain sports companies produce in low-wage countries, while profits flow to industrialized nations.
Despite improved working conditions in the industry, the basic dynamic remains: companies from economically strong countries benefit from low wages in production countries.
Our Responsibility
When the country went into lockdown during the 2020 Corona pandemic, Prabin Thapa continued to pay the nearly 100-strong workforce for months. What is taken for granted in countries with strong labor rights, and meant home office and Zoom meetings in Germany, was life-threatening for many seamstresses in India, Bangladesh, and Vietnam.
From designs to the last zipper, every detail is tested and improved in the Himalayas. We understand this participation as true fairness.
When you take care of your workers, the workers take care of you.
